What "book cover maker" usually means — and where it breaks

The generic tools are good at one thing: putting your words on a picture. They break at the exact moment the file has to become a printing file. A title rendered as pixels cannot be re-kerned, cannot be fixed when the author's name is spelled wrong, and cannot be reused on the spine.

CoverNice splits the two layers. The artwork is generated; the type is text. That single decision is why you can fix a typo without losing the image, and why the spine can carry the same title without a second generation pass.

Who it is for

Indie authors publishing 1–3 books a year who would rather not learn InDesign, and series authors who need the same layout across 3–12 titles. Both care about the same thing: the file uploads on the first try.

Questions people actually ask

Is AI-generated book cover text editable?

In most generators, no: the title is painted into the image, so one wrong letter means re-rolling the whole picture. CoverNice generates artwork without text and sets the title, author and spine type as real vector text, so you edit a letter instead of regenerating.

Can I use the cover commercially?

Yes — the cover is yours to publish, including on Amazon KDP. Built-in fonts are licensed for print. If you upload your own artwork, make sure you hold the rights to it.

Does it export a KDP-ready PDF?

Yes: one wrap file with back, spine and front, 0.125 in bleed, 0.25 in safe area, barcode reserved, at 300 dpi.

Do I need design software?

No. The whole path — generate, set type, pick a trim size, enter the page count, export — happens in the browser.
